Nicole Sachs

Nicole's Story

I collapsed through the door of this work just like you - scared, suffering, alone, confused, and full of dread that the chronic pain I was experiencing would define my existence. At the age of nineteen, I was delivered a life-altering diagnosis: a degenerative spinal condition that doctors warned would severely limit my life and even keep me from having biological children. The spinal fusion surgery that doctors recommended carried no guarantee of becoming pain free. For the first time I realized traditional doctors didn’t have solutions for what was most urgent: ending my pain.

First driven by desperation, then fueled by curiosity, I began a surprising, ultimately rewarding journey to discover all I could about the nature, cause, and treatment of pain and chronic suffering. It brought me to the doorstep of Dr. John Sarno, then an attending physician at The Rusk Center for Rehabilitation/NYU Langone Medical Center. Armed with his teachings on the brain science behind MindBody medicine and an eagerness to regulate my nervous system, I became chronic pain free and gave birth to my three beautiful children without complication. I went from a patient to a colleague, lecturing with him at NYU and supporting his patients in my private psychotherapy practice.

For over 20 years, I have guided humans once engulfed in endless chronic pain, conditions, illness, and anxiety to total freedom through my private practice, podcast, retreats, and online offerings. Now with Your BreakAwake, I am realizing my dream of creating a comprehensive, cohesive community where you can learn, grow, and utilize all the tools you need to quiet chronic symptoms for good, and open to a life of limitless possibilities.
